A Bit of Progress!

Here are some quick pics of the progress we've made these last few day.  I am going to try my hardest to walk around tomorrow and take some pictures.  I am LOVING the progress... feeling more like home :)

Below:  The office and guest bedroom.  Both have paint, baseboards and carpet.  Still need window casing and light fixture.

Below:  We decided on our granite... It's "San Benedicto" a leathered granite.  It is a dark gray/black.  A template of it will be made on Wednesday so it should be installed in about a week and a half.  CANNOT WAIT!!!

Below:  Chris is working like crazy on our wood floors!!! So proud of how hard he is working.

For You- Sarah & LaNiece

I have been busy/draggingmyfeet/lazy/Christmasshopping... these past few weeks and just haven't really had a chance to sit down and post, and when I have had that chance I just don't feel like it.  So I am starting this post tonight, Christmas night... we will see when it is finished :)  BTW, hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

These last two weeks we've been staying super busy with the house and I am so excited because I feel like we are finally seeing end results.  We spent so long tearing out walls/ceilings/floors that now we are putting walls/ceilings/floors back together!!!  Drywall is done, paint is on MOST of the walls (a HUGE THANK YOU to Mallorie, Davide, Josh & Lilly!), my fun new knobs are on the vanity upstairs, lots of light fixtures are in, we are even staying in our bedroom in our own bed!!!   Over the next week we will be installing flooring, whitewashing the brick fireplace, casing windows, getting (fingers crossed) and installing the kitchen cabinets, and getting the granite templates!  I promise I will post as these things happen. ;)

Here are pictures from the last couple of weeks.  There is actually more progress than this... but I think I will save a few of those pictures until the rooms are more complete!

Below:  Insulation in the ceiling! Yay! Now it won't be as cold and *maybe* we will turn on the heat!

Below: DRYWALL FINALLY!

Above: Goodbye ugly wallpaper!!!
Below: The (extremely dusty) wood flooring and baseboards have been installed in the master!!!

Below: The stairwell bookcases continue

Below: More cabinet painting for the main bathroom upstairs

Below: We had to move all of our boxes out of the office and into the garage/house/shed/yard while office flooring was being installed.  LOTS OF BOXES.

Below:  With their amazing help we painted the office, guest bedroom, hallway and main bath one night... Josh even started steaming off the laundry room border.

Below:  After lots of taping and prepping Chris primed and painted the great room.  Yay!

Below:  All the leaves in the tree started falling and we had some fun in them!

Below:  While we were unpacking Jackson spotted his piggy bank and immediately wanted to give it to the kids in Africa (Advent Conspiracy)  That made my heart so happy.  I am so proud of him.

Below:  On Christmas Eve Eve Jackson got to sing with some of his friends during three different services.  He LOVED it!

Below:  We spent Christmas day with our friends Ben and Abby.  We had a lot of fun, especially when everyone opened their $ Store presents Kai and Jack picked out for them.

Above:  Santa brought Jackson a "new toy boat"  just like he asked for.

Hope you enjoyed the update and I will post more pictures soon! (I promise Sarah and LaNiece!) :)

Moving Backwards, Moving Forwards, Just Busy Moving

This past week or so we have been busy continuing progress on the home; one minor set back, picked floors, picked paint, and spent time visiting with friends and celebrating accomplishments.

Here are pictures from the past week.  Enjoy!

Below:  I spent about 2+ hours at the flooring store trying to decide which floors to pick.  I was asked, "Are you ok?" about 100 times by every employee.  I found three I really liked.  All were very different and each had their pros and cons.  Ultimately I picked one and can't wait to see it installed!

Below:  Setback... :/  Below is a picture of our sump pump located under the stairs in the basement.  It's our first sump pump, our first basement, our first flood.

Below:  This was the room Chris and I were staying in (it will be the "craft" room) and about 5 minutes before this picture was taken it had a bed and a bunch of furniture in it.

Above:  The water seeped through the wall and under the floors which then needed to be removed.  It was so hard watching Chris tear up something he just worked on- but, he took care of it and after a night of sleeping on the couch he replaced them all again and moved us back in!  Thanks Babe!

Below:  I purchased the Annie Sloan chalk paint in French Linen and decided it would be a nice "help" to the basement bathroom.  We aren't completely remodeling the bathrooms but just making them "prettier".  Here are some before and after pictures.  The whole room still needs paint, lighting and fixtures but I am excited with how the cabinet turned out. And it was SO EASY!

Below:  The tree in our front yard has been changing color and it has been so fun to watch.  Next fall I am going to try to remember to take pictures starting when it is green and each week after as it starts to change.

Below: The boys met pretty Olivia for the first time.  They are in love!

Below:  I got to visit this beautiful wedding venue with a friend that asked me to help with her wedding.  The venue was BEAUTIFUL, the bride is BEAUTIFUL... I am so excited to be apart of this day!

Below:  These pictures are from Mission Women's KNOW event.  Don't forget to sign up for Bible Study!!! :)

Above: My friend Amy made these awesome brownies with the Mission logo.
Below:  Saturday was busy with soccer games and dance recitals.  So proud of these kids!

Below:  Saturday also held a fun night celebrating my friend Wesley who graduated from nursing school.  We are SO PROUD OF HER!!!

Above: The dumpster became party decor again... this time as a SHARPS container.
Below:  Wesley's sister Katelyn made these adorable nurse-themed cupcakes and cookies.

Below:  Proud Mommy Moment... Jackson performed in his Pre-K Christmas program.  The smile did not leave his face or mine.  SO SO SO Proud of him.  He loved being up on stage.

Above:  Some Jackson's biggest fans.  I love that he is so loved!
Below:  Today I had some fun practicing my newly learned camera knowledge.

Below:  And finally, I got to go visit sweet Gavin Guard as he is recovering from surgery.  How peaceful does he look?!?!  So precious.  Thank you God for such an amazing blessing!

I'm extremely excited for our next week as I think I will see the biggest transformations yet!  I can't wait!
